November 2007 saw the introduction of a computerised system that carries out our waste management process. The waste management process includes all the activities carried out for the safe collection, transportation and disposal of waste materials. The benefits of the system include;
Increased Efficiency
The system is database driven and keeps an inventory of information. Over time some of this information becomes reusable like addresses, contact names and waste stream names enabling the rapid input and processing of data. This increased efficiency ultimately leads to us reducing our order collection lead times and providing a more timely service for our customers.
Ensured Compliance with Environment Agency Directives
On top of our own vigorous physical checks within our waste management process the system has pre built logic to ensure that our operations meet the Rules and Regulations set by the Environment Agency. The system is also flexible enough for us to update these validation rules as changes are made by the EA. Amongst the rules include making sure premise dates have not expired before we collect waste.
Tracking and Monitoring of Waste Disposal
The system allows us to trace the entire spectrum of activities that fall into our waste management process from the generation of a quote all the way to the final disposal. This is done by generating a unique number at the quotation state that is used throughout the process as a tracking number. All documents produced by the system including container labels have this unique tracking number.
